Spanish independent Roca Junyent brought in more than €40m in fees during the last financial year after posting an 11% hike in revenues.
The firm saw its 2008 income hit €40.3m. This is up from the €36.3m that the 56-partner Roca posted in 2007. The results have been buoyed by mandates for Abertis on its €7bn joint purchase of Itinere, Banco Sabadell on the €750m sale of stake in the business to Zurich and SAS on the recent sale of Spanair.
The strong results come after the firm last month announced the recruitment of a new M&A partner. Xavier Miravalls was the former head of KPMG Legal in Barcelona and joined Roca Junyent in January.
Roca Junyent is the latest Spanish firm to post solid growth despite the economic downturn. Garrigues and Gomez-Acebo & Pombo have already revealed positive revenue figures, with Uria Menendez also set for a jump of around 9% in fees for 2008
